Another year passes

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

The year 2009 has gone. It was fast. It is like yesterday came and just disappeared.

After I have moved to the United States in 99, every year had it’s own challenges. I kept optimism even at the time of trouble. In the year 2009, Lord has blessed us with good sales in our table tennis store business, prosperity in our personal life and good health.

In the Month of May, I had to visit an allergy specialist. Luckly he was an Asthma specialist also. He has helped me to cure my cronic cough problem. I’m slowly moving away from the inhaler.

The table tennis store website development was a tough project. The help from John & Dan paid off. The store was released with 800 products in April. There was steady growth in the business from April. Two new brands Champion & TTMaster added to the store.

The US Open 2009 was better than previous years. I had more stamina – the cure to the lung has helped. The US Nationals 2010 was far better. I had fun playing some very high rated players like Joe Cochran, Austin Preiss.

I became a US Citizen in October. The process has delayed our plan to move to Dallas.

Thank you Lord for all the blessings.

Thanksgiving 2008

My wife and I travelled to Los Angeles to spend the thanksgicing with my uncle and his family. My uncle has arrived in the United States 5 years ago from India. He is the closest from our pallathu family I have always talked to and get together for fun and stories. He has so many stories to tell. This time we discussed about an Impala Fiet car that our grand-mother (grand-father’s sister) Valiyamamma had. She completed her medical in Mysore and became the first doctor in our area. She bought an Impala Fiet car which was like Rs.15,000 in 1969. She had also a fridge at that time. A car or a fridge was rately seen in India at that time. I have asked my uncle why everyone could not have a car or a a fridge at that time. She was rich and her knowldge of the world was very vast. Now almost 40 years later, all middle to upper class people can afford a car in India. The people know what they require to have to raise the quality of life.
