Moab is still beautiful

Monday, September 1st, 2008

I love to visit Moab in Southern Utah. I had been here in 2003, 2005, 2007 and April 2008. This is already my second trip this year. From the first visit to this time, I have not seen any new commercial changes here in this area. I love this place because of that reason. As usual my family stayed at the Apache Motel this year too.

Unlike other times, we camped at the Big Bend Recreation Site on Highway 128 for longer time. The George Foreman grill is superb. We had organic steak and kebab. We have not been to Arches National Park, Castle Valley and Canyon Lands this time – a lot of travel will consume the camping time.

The fire consumed a part of Moab this year. We were lucky to have some thunder storms during the weekend, so it was not hot at all this time. I had the regular chat with the Apache Motel Manager who has told me where the fire has started. She has started a monument many years ago to remember a massacre against Indians. That was the exact place where the fire has started. She has worried whether someone can preserve the monument.

We have visited our favorite Chinese restaurant as usual and the grand finale with an ice cream – not from our favorite Moab Diner though.

Discover Moab is a website where there is a lot of information about Moab.
